Open Door Outreach Center

Keeping more of every donation for the families it was given for

The challenge

Open Door Outreach Center is a small nonprofit in Waterford, Michigan, that serves low-income families and seniors through its food pantry, thrift store, Back to School program, and Adopt-A-Family program. Their donation and registration tools charged high processing rates plus per-user fees, so part of every gift and every sign-up went to software instead of the mission.

What IGD did

We built a simple donation and event management system sized for a small team. It collects registrations with no per-user fees and runs through a standard payment gateway, so Open Door can use any merchant provider and shop for a competitive rate.

The results

  • Lower processing costs and no per-registration fees, even as events grow
  • Donation and event reports generated on demand, without the manual work
  • Each event takes less staff and volunteer time to run and reconcile
